Evaluation and Management for Medical Oncology

March 1, 2018
12:00PM - 1:00PM Central Time

Four HPI elements – check. 10+ ROS – check. Three of “these” and four of “those.” It is important to ensure that the documentation will support the level of service reported; however, the compliance check doesn’t stop there. This session will explore the documentation to ensure that the visit is billable and billable under the anticipated provider. Incident-to, shared services, the involvement of residents, or even the combination of services will impact the ability to report that service date at any level of service.

  • Does the documentation describe chemotherapy education?
  • Was the patient ‘cleared’ for chemotherapy or other treatment during that face/face evaluation?

These questions are as important to compliance as the number of organ systems evaluated within the physical exam.  Focused specifically on the challenges faced by Medical Oncology and Hematology, this hour long session will give you the tools to ensure your EM services meet more than just the level of service.

Free for Client Resource Center Clients.
